No Ugly Crying Allowed

Marjon and I instantly connected because I could relate to her cultural background. I understood the importance of bringing in the cultural elements into her wedding even though they were not going to do the traditional Persian ceremony. Marjon and Ben got married inside of Crossings Community Church, then celebrated with their family and friends on the 34th floor of the Chase Building at The Petroleum Club. These two were inseparable the entire night, and I don’t think they ever left the dance floor! Thank you for letting Aisle Be With You be a part of your special day! x0x0

Visone Rehearsal Dinner

JP and Susan lived in Dallas, Texas and were in need of a wedding planner for their son and future daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner. They contacted Aisle Be With You after hearing that the Bride, Dallyn, had hired us to be a part of her wedding day. With JP and Susan out-of-state, all of the planning and design for the rehearsal dinner was left in our hands to bring together a memorable evening shared with their loved ones. With a wonderful team of vendors on board, we were able to achieve this magical evening for them to celebrate! Oh, and…..Dallyn surprised her mother by wearing her wedding dress for rehearsal! After the toasts, we had all the guest join us outside for “s’more love!”

Jackson Party of Two

Scott and Malarie got engaged in early Fall 2014. Scott fell pretty hard for this lovely lady! Not only did I get the privilege of being their Wedding Planner, but they even decided to bring me on board to be their Interior Designer for their new home. They always did their homework, and on their wedding day I could see the pure joy and love that surrounded them. I can recall Scott reading his card from Malarie and he took back a moment to just soak it all in with the greatest smile on his face. These two were meant to be, and have officially announced that they are expecting their first baby in Spring 2016! Congratulations to this sweet couple, and I am so happy that I get to call these two, or shall I say three, a part of my forever Aisle Be With You family!

Eat, Drink, & Be Married.

It was about two Summers ago when I recall us chatting about weddings after one of our mutual friends, Katie Hinds, had just tied the knot in Tulsa. Kendall has always been such a sweet individual to be around, and when Zach popped the big question, I was so excited when Katie told me she was interested in becoming an Aisle Be With You Bride. Kendall and Zach were wonderful to work with, and I was thrilled to see how sweet their love truly was on their wedding day. They both couldn’t stop smiling the entire day, and their eyes were constantly locked in on one another.

Their ceremony took place at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, with the reception following at Red Prime in Downtown, OKC. The wedding guest danced the night away to an incredible band called The Wonderfuls, and you could tell that they didn’t want the night to end!! Cheers to your happily ever after!! #thezachmorriswedding

Sailing Away With a Kuhlman

Kelsey and Jason were two of the sweetest individuals I had the pleasure of working with on their wedding this past Spring. Jason lives in Austin, Texas, and Kelsey had just got a job opportunity out there so we had to plan their wedding in merely three months. With a week of constant crazy thunderstorms, the hopes for a beautiful outdoor ceremony was slowly fading away. On the day of their wedding, I knew that we could not risk guests nor the wedding party walking out on extremely muddy grounds. Kelsey and Jason both agreed that we needed to move their wedding indoors. We were able to work the timeline around to still capture some beautiful outdoor photos with the First Look and their Wedding Party. After twenty minutes of taking photos outside, the storm came in and it came in hard! Sooner Valet did a fabulous job of parking over 200 vehicles, and we had guests escorted inside the main reception facility. Overall, Jason and Kelsey had a beautiful wedding, and they were so thrilled with how everything turned out! I have never seen such a huge dance party!! They weren’t kidding when they told me in our initial meeting “We HAVE to have a big dance floor!” They danced their night away, and the two of them looked more in love then ever! Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. Kuhlman!

Pray for Rain: Winning Couple

Rachel and her mother, Charla, were referred to me by one of my past brides, Nicole Wright. We formed an instant connection when I heard about how much she LOVED her dog, Coco. A week prior to her wedding date, we were consciously watching the weather channel in order to prepare for our rainy day back up plan. I tried to keep Rachel as calm as possible knowing that it was most likely going to rain on her wedding day. We made sure that all the wonderful vendors on board were prepared to start the day about two hours earlier, so that we could capture some beautiful photos outdoors before the storm arrived. On the day of, we set up the wedding as if it was going to take place outdoors underneath the beautiful gazebo at Chisholm Springs. An hour prior to the actual wedding start time, the storm had arrived! Running in the pouring rain, my assistant, Courtney, and I grabbed all the items and brought them indoors for Plan B. We were still able to create a special aisle and beautiful back drop for Rachel and Taylor to tie the knot in front of all their family and friends. They celebrated in cheer and there was no “raining on their parade!” While they were on their honeymoon in California, they received the best news from B.C. Clark Jewelers! They had won $5k for having rain on their wedding day! We wanted to send a special thank you to all the amazing vendors on board for working with us to in order to make Rachel and Taylor’s wedding dreams come true. They had the best day ever!

Lovely Lavender Wedding Inspiration Shoot

Featured on Style Me Pretty 2015

Through the beauty of nature arises a lavender inspired shoot. When designing this inspiration shoot, putting together a team of talented and creative artists was key in capturing our vision of using nature as the perfect canvas for a wedding day.

The natural light peeking through the intertwined trees and the serenity of the water influenced the vision behind this shoot. Different hues of lavender and green are seen throughout to compliment the earth tones in its surroundings. The idea behind this shoot is a walk down memory lane for the bride on her wedding day. As you transition from different vignettes, memories from her wedding day are shared.

Vintage pieces such as the gorgeous settee, end table, and chandelier from Jam Events and Productions, were chosen to add charm and romance to the setting. With nature being one of our main elements to the design, it was vital that the gown and the bridesmaid dresses had plenty of movement and fluidity. This was top on our wardrobe priority list. There is always something magical about seeing a dress sway in the wind! The day of the shoot, like most days in Oklahoma, we had plenty of wind. Watching the bride’s gown from the talented designer, Allure, and the bridesmaids’ dresses from designer, Bill Levkoff flow in the breeze gave motion to the design. An aqua colored jewel was selected for the wedding ring from BC Clark Jewelers as a dual purpose. We chose the aqua stone to tie in with the water scene of the wedding, and to add a new take on the something blue.

Gorgeous, lush florals designed by Tony Foss Flowers, are seen throughout the vignettes. The stunning bridal bouquet incorporates the popular king protea flowers to add drama along with some classic favorites, and hung above the boardwalk across the pond, a picturesque swing covered in greenery and roses.

The powerful floral became the blueprint for stationery by Touie’s Design. The soft color palette with the shades of pink, purple, and green were beautifully arranged to create a pattern that would later influence our detailed cake design, too. The watercolor style of the floral on the stationery would translate into an intricate part of the hand painted layer of the cake. As the top gold layer sparkled in the sun, your eyes move down to the intricate watercolor floral pattern hand painted by Mishelle Handy. The greenery that was placed around the cake base, not only ties in the landscaping around it, but also helps make the cake stand out even more. The lilac floral atop is the perfect pop of color. Placing the cake in the water was a natural choice as the illusion of a floating cake created a tranquil added touch, while drawing in the water to the overall design.

The log bench and wood table showcase a rustic style, but the ghost chairs were used to marry it with a modern style. The gorgeous calligraphy cut out signs behind the bride and groom seats are a modern taken on the traditional “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs. The vintage style is seen throughout the place setting arrangements that were selected from Vintage Tabletop Rentals, to incorporate the romantic and timeless moment in the Bride’s life.

Song of Soloman 3:4 was the inspiration for the dessert bar. We wanted to show bride’s an easy DIY, new take on an old piece by reviving a vanity and bringing it to life. The bride’s something old can be beautifully transformed into their something new with this piece. The mirrored segment of the vanity was painted with chalk paint, and calligraphy by Sooner Calligraphy. Mishelle Handy Cakes showcased dessert items each on its own platform to highlight the detailed dessert art. Tony Foss Flowers filled drawers with florals once again weaving the lavender theme through each piece.

Sheradee Hurst Photography and Aisle Be With You wedding planning chose to photograph this shoot using film to compliment the colors chosen and to show bride’s the richness that film photography provides. Like the vanity, something considered old is once again becoming something new as film photography is becoming more popular with brides. Dewberry Cinema caught the joyful essence of the shoot at every turn of the walk through this Lavender Love Story. Please visit the link below to see the featured shoot!

The Perfect Proposal

It was back in September when I received a phone call from a good friend, Jennifer Degge. She had been contemplating whether or not, she should go on a date with a guy named Drew Russell. While sitting in traffic in LA, I kept telling Jenn that I have this weird feeling that you need to go out with him, because you will marry this man! Luckily, it didn’t take her long to decide, but it was the best decision she has made for herself thus far. I have known Jenn for almost a decade, and we both have watched each other grow into the women we are today. Jennifer has been through a lot the past few years, and for Drew to walk into her life at the moment he did, was a message from the Man above. If you were to ask me to describe Jenn, I would say she is sweet, sassy, smart, extremely outgoing, and incredibly nurturing. If you were to ask me to describe Drew, I would say he is calm, loving, driven, and I might praise him for a minute and say he is the “World Champion in Cow Chip Throwing!” Believe me…this is a real thing. I use to tell people that I had a feeling Jenn and Drew would be engaged by May, and all be darn…that is exactly what happened!

Drew approached me on March 28, 2015 by sending me a lovely text message while I was coordinating the wedding day of one of Jenn’s close friends, Malarie Jackson. He says “We need to talk! We need to plan this proposal!” I was so excited he had asked me to be a part of this special occasion, because I knew that like myself, Jenn was a huge dog lover, and she would have wanted nothing more than to have her sweet little Westie, Bella, to share in the proposal experience. Jenn has experienced a few losses in her life the past few years, and her little girl has been right there by her side throughout it all. Drew and I knew the importance of making sure that she was incorporated. We met at Cool Greens one afternoon about five weeks ago to begin the planning process. We decided we would get a dog name tag with Drew’s last name on one side and “Will You Marry Me” on the other. Since we wanted to keep the proposal a very intimate experience between the two of them, we contacted Amanda Watson, who is an incredibly talented photographer to capture this magical moment in their life, so that they could cherish the photos and share with their loved ones. We knew she would be the perfect fit for the proposal!

Sunday, May 17, 2015 couldn’t have been a more beautiful day out! The sun was shining, low winds, and the landscaping at the Myriad Gardens was on point! Amanda and I arrived to the location we had selected for the proposal, and as she blended into the crowd enjoying the gardens, I went inside for hiding at the Park House Restaurant. We both spotted Jenn, Drew, and Bella walk around the corner. Jenn allowed Bella to chase a squirrel around, and as they walked down the path to the proposal, Jenn couldn’t resist but take a few more selfies of the two of them. Jenn LOVES pictures! This is not uncommon of her to do. As they approached the designated area, Amanda Watson pulled out her camera and began capturing their special moment. Drew drops the name tag into the grass and tells Jenn that he thinks Bella’s dog tag came off. As they search to find it, she picks it up and at first doesn’t think it is Bella’s….then…it hits her. Drew gets down on one knee, says a few sweet words, pulls out the beautiful ring, and pops the big question! It didn’t take but a second, and Jenn was so ecstatic, she said YES!! As her hands and knees were shaking in excitement, Drew places the ring on Jenn’s finger, and the rest is history! I decided to pop out from the restaurant, and let her know I was in on the secret. She was pretty happy to see me there, and within a minute, she popped the big question, “Will you be my Matron of Honor!?!”…..Well… Of Course, I will!!

I am so blessed to have been able to be a part of the perfect proposal for Jenn and Drew. I wish them both a lifetime of happiness and lots of love! Cheers to your future, and let’s start planning this wedding!
