Deep Reds, Gold Tones, and Shades of Green were brought together to create this beautiful Oklahoma Fall Inspired Shoot. In Oklahoma, the Fall is the perfect time to say your I Dos. The only issue could be if you are a die-hard sports fan, but if you want seventy-degree weather, amazing color palettes and gorgeous blooms, then the Fall is the perfect time to tie the knot! I wanted to design a shoot that focused around color. At times, I come across clients who want to stick to a softer color palette, but I wanted to show others that incorporating color could still be romantic, classy, and sophisticated. The shoot took place in the fields of The Springs Event Venue in Edmond, Oklahoma. Michelle Leach with Magnolia Adams Photography and Rachel Dewberry with Dewberry Cinema, captured the day beautifully!
Blo Dry Bar in Oklahoma City did an amazing job on the models hair and makeup. The bridesmaid dresses and bridal gown were found at Prescott Bridals in Edmond, Oklahoma. The dresses were by Nouvelle Amsale in the colors Garnet and Forest Green. The chiffon overlay on the dresses added to the romance by creating an airy feel to the shoot. The colors of the bridesmaid dresses are seen throughout within the cake tiers, florals, and tablescape design. The Bridal Gown is by the designer, Tara Keely. The details in the ivory gold lace bodice, illusion scooped neckline, and the V back with cascading lace bodice was absolutely breathtaking! The asymmetrical tiered skirt with horsehair trim and chapel train added an organic flair to the gown. “Something Blue” was incorporated by the bottom soles of the Betsy Johnson heels that the bride wore.
The talented Allison Dake with Brown Egg Bakery designed the wedding cake and macaroon towers. She incorporated sugar flowers and twigs in an asymmetrical twist along the wedding cake. The warm colors are seen throughout the cake tiers along with adding a masculine tone with plaid and herringbone ribbon tied to the macaroon towers and the second tier. Pops of Glam are seen in the gold found in the brush strokes on the wedding cake and gold flakes that are perfectly sprinkled onto the towers. This cake is definitely unique and wonderful for anyone who wants to think outside the box!
The tablescape consisted of items from Marianne’s Rentals. The farmhouse table, bench, and Morgan Grey High Back Chairs, added natural warmth to the ambiance. The Alpine Gold Class Charger allowed the beautiful whitewashed plates to showcase the garnet colored napkins. We incorporated two different styles of glassware into the shoot to show that mixing patterns is wonderful way to create interest and detail. Rachel Kathryn Designs created the gorgeous watercolor menu cards and place cards to tie in the green and gold colors altogether. Rachel Kathryn was also responsible for the wedding signage and formal invitation suite. Bringing in a calligrapher really does bring in elegance to any setting.
The talented Poppy Lane Design did all the florals. The centerpiece on the table and bouquets were absolutely breathtaking. Flowers will complete any design, especially when you get to incorporate so many beautiful textures and colors in the mix! Overall, we wanted to design a shoot that showcased a collection of warm and deep tones while still remaining elegant and romantic. My advice to viewers is to not be afraid to fall in love with color!
